Judge Lisa Van Amburg received her A.B. degree from Washington University 1970 and her J.D. Degree from St. Louis University in 1975. Before her appointment as a circuit court judge in 2003, she was a partner in Van Amburg, Chackes, Carlson & Spritzer LLP. Prior to 1996, she was with Schuchat, Cook & Werner, and Anderson, Everett Sedey & Van Amburg. During her years in practice, Judge Van Amburg litigated civil rights actions before both the Eastern and Western federal district courts and appeared before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. She is past Co-Chair of the EEO Committee of the ABA Section of Labor and employment law and has written and lectured extensively on the subject of employment litigation.
