Steven R. Sullivan is Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of Ameren Corporation, as well as its various subsidiaries. With assets of $23 billion, Ameren serves approximately 2.4 electric customers and almost one million natural gas customers in a 64,000-square mile area of Missouri and Illinois. Ameren owns a diverse mix of electric generating plants strategically located in its Midwest market with a generating capacity of more than 16,400 megawatts.
Mr. Sullivan began his career at the St. Louis law firm of Kohn, Shands, Elbert, Gianoulakis & Giljum in 1985. In 1987, he joined Union Electric Company. In late 1995, Mr. Sullivan left AmerenUE to assume the position of associate general counsel at Anheuser-Busch Companies. Mr. Sullivan returned to Ameren in mid-1998 as Vice President General Counsel & Secretary and was named Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in late 2003.
Mr. Sullivan earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a master of business administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. In addition, he earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Mr. Sullivan was admitted to the Missouri bar in October 1985 and is a certified public accountant in the state of Missouri.
He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL), American Corporate Counsel Association, Missouri Certified Public Accountants Society, American Society of Corporate Secretaries and Focus St. Louis Class of 2002-03. Mr. Sullivan is a member of the boards of the University of Missouri-St. Louis Leadership Advisory Council, Food Outreach and the Missouri Chamber of Commerce.
